Damian Dame - an R&B duo consisting of Debra Jean "Deah Dame" Hurd and Bruce Edward "Damian" Brodus.  Famous for the hit song  Exclusivity,  Damian Dame was the first act signed to the LaFace label. Plans for their second album came to a halt when Deah died in an car accident on June 27, 1994.  Two years later, also on June 27, Damian succummed to colon cancer. Debra was 35, Bruce was just 29.

Renee Diggs was the lead vocalist for the group Starpoint.  The group was famous for singing Object Of My Desire and Restless.  During the Restless tour, Renee was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and the rest of the tour was canceled. Renee died on March 18, 2005 of heart-related complications. She was 50 years old.

Gwen Guthrie was a singer best-known for the hit song, Ain't Nothing Going On But The Rent. Gwen was also a songwriter and wrote songs for Roberta Flack and Sister Sledge. Gwen died of uterine cancer on February 3, 1999 at the age of 48.

Richard "Dimples" Fields was an R&B singer famous for the song, If It Ain't One Thing, It's Another. Richard died of a stroke on January 12th, 2000. He was 58 years old.

Wylie Draper was the actor who portrayed Michael Jackson in the mini-series, The Jacksons: An American Dream. He died a year after the program aired.  Wylie passed away on December 20 1993, from a rare form of leukemia.

Ron O'Neal was an actor, director and screenwriter.  He is most remembered for his starring role as Priest in the blaxploitation film Superfly. He died on January 14, 2004 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 66 on the same day "Superfly" was released on DVD in the US.
